MANIFIESTO DE NIÑOS
In Manifiesto de Niños, El Periférico de Objetos unfolds its arsenal of puppets and toys to talk through the voices of childhood. In this particular theatre installation three actors quarter themselves in a space closed to the audience -a kind of enormous house of plays- in order to recreate the universe of children and the tough relation with the adult world.
Planned as a political manifest about childhood, the actors -embodying their own childhood-, the puppets and the mechanical spring toys compose an army willing to fight against the dictatorship of adulthood.
Premiered in Brussels in May 2005, Manifiesto de Niños relates to theatre, to installation and to performance to create a singular show in which the actors remain locked in a space 4 X 7 meters sized, a sort of “Kinderkamp” or concentration camp for children and are observed by a voyeuristic audience from the outside.
