LA BALSA DE LA MEDUSA
This production was conceived under the influence of Peter Handke’s “Offending the Audience” and of the concept of “Parrhesia” (freedom of speech, the obligation to speak the truth for the common good, even at personal risk) developed by Michel Foucault.
The actors in this show go through a tour de force of insults, shouting to the audience more than 600 verbal offenses in order to provoke their reaction and to beak the barrier of representation.
Due to the high variability in the audience’s responses and its logical consequences in the dramatic action, this show borders constantly the limits of theatre and therefore gets closer to performance art and its potentialities.
