Last edition -so far- of the Matadero cycle, in this case staged in Mexico City, with local performers. Here, the subject of minorities, an essential part of this performance series’ storyline, focuses on femicide and its utmost paradigm: Ciudad Juarez, and it’s over 400 women murdered. Although no specific events are portrayed, the title provides the audience with a perspective from where to read the bizarre universe of El Matadero. Here, some Mexican icons - the mariachi, the wrestler, La Calaca - joins with the core figures of the Matadero series -the transvestite, the lamb, the lunatic - to set the ground for this tour, where the female body gets raped, shredded, scattered and rebuilt by a patriarchal society where the male destroys any image of the feminine, except for the Virgin of Guadalupe.
