58 INDICIOS SOBRE EL CUERPO / VERSIÓN BRASIL
Performance staged in Uberlandia, Minas Gerais, Brazil, with 58 performers gathered from all over Latin America, based on French philosopher Jean-Luc Nancy’s homonymous text. Bodies share a reduced space, strip off their clothes, and highlight their scars or life marks with mud and through dance. Fifty-eight performers take the stage with the unharriedness of those in possession of their time. The series is identical: performers undress one by one, leaving their garments behind at the center of the scene, approach a microphone and deliver their text, offer their indice, while its corresponding number - printed on each one’s back - works as a skin stamp or identity inscription. The body is material, immaterial, visible. It is exteriority, difference, alterity. It is prison or it is God. it is corpse or it is glorious.
