"12 indices on the Body + 12 indices on the Soul" is a pedagogical research work, experimentation and creation conducted at the Laboratorio de Proyectos de Estudiantes of the Maestría Interdisciplinar en Teatros y Artes Vivas, during the month of November 2013, at the National University of Colombia. Departing from the text of French philosopher Jean-Luc Nancy "58 Indices on the Body", a creative process unfolded in which the use of one's body was encouraged as a canvas for creatively witness a series of aphoristic reflections on the historical (false) dichotomy between the concepts of body and soul. Consequently, the group of 26 Performers was divided in two and each was assigned a space (a bathroom in the Sports Center campus at the National University of Colombia in Bogotá), a subject category (body / soul), a matter (water / rock) and an ambient color (red or blue). Starting from the appropriation of one “index” each and the poetic unfolding of it over his/her body, each artist configured him/herself as part of the body / soul constellation. The end of the process meant the opening of the experience to an audience, with presentations on December 3 and 4, 2013.
